Importance of Automation

Almost every entrepreneur starts his business by assuming the role of the chief worker, an all-in-one personality who does everything, and in whose absence the working collapses. This is the typically prevalent case of the entrepreneur working “IN” the business. There are only 24 hours in a day, and how long or hard can a person work? Gradually exhaustion sets in and after an initial spurt of growth, the company plateaus off, never reaching the glory it would have achieved if the business had been automated.

Automation simply means that there are developed systems of Training, Selling, Marketing, HR, R&D, Operations, Accounting, Finance and Administration which will run the business irrespective of the entrepreneur’s presence or absence. This enables the Entrepreneur to become free of working “IN” the business and can instead work “ON” the business. The growth of the company then becomes a part of the system.

Hence if Automation is not done, the following great demerits occur

  • The business runs on the whims and fancies of the owner
  • The owner’s weaknesses become the weaknesses of the company with no new thought or ideas being implemented
  • No system or process in place – hence leading to unprofessional way of working
  • No planning, strategy or growth plan in place
  • Ultimately the entrepreneur himself becomes the greatest enemy of his company’s growth.

The Entrepreneur needs to work only “ON” the business – like bringing in new technology, forging new alliances and partnerships, focusing on market share and market dominance, attending business trainings and conferences, thinking up new innovative product and service combinations etc.

In Life Champions Ecosystem we teach the “Model of Automation” in our training programs, seminars and consultations wherein we help develop systems to Train your team to sell and develop an accountability structure to hold every component of the system into place. We help develop your business systems through ourentrepreneur training systems and one-to-one handholding sessions.

These are the basic principles of Business Automation

  1. If a team member can do a particular task – you, the entrepreneur will not do it
  2. The Business income does not depend on the working of the entrepreneur. It depends on the working of the trained professional team under a system
  3. Your success as an entrepreneur does not depend on how your business runs in your presence – but depends on how it runs in your absence
  4. An entrepreneur’s capability is not measured by his ability to work. His capability is measured by his talent to use other people’s Time, Talent, Efforts, Energy and Excellence [OPT and OPE] to get the work done.

Remember that your business is the chariot [Rath], you are the charioteer [Sarthi] and there are seven horses which take your chariot forward. These seven horses are Marketing, Sales, Operations, Accounts and Finance, HR, R&D and Admin. Remember Automation means that the entrepreneur sits firmly as the charioteer gripping the reigns of the seven horses firmly in his hands to ensure that the Rath moves fast and efficiently in the right direction. In most non-automated businesses, the entrepreneurs become one of the horses where the chariot loses direction, or stalls. In this case the business survives at best.

By learning and committing to automate your business as the above principles shared, you will create a great business and lead a life of an honourable businessman with great wealth, freedom, and a big legacy. All the best.
